The Burden Bearers Ministry

In 2009, the Burden Bearers under the umbrella of the Outreach Ministries of Redeemed Christian Church of God, The King’s Palace was created to care for the feeding needs of our community and church members. At its inception, the ministry was charged with distributing food, organizing health fairs, hospital visitation, helping the abused in the community, and using these services to impact them positively for the Lord.

During this period, the Burden Bearers Ministry liaised with another Redeemed Christian Church of God as a sub-agency under their license with Houston Food Bank in procuring food and other items. In 2010, we obtained our own license to become a Certified Agency with the Houston Food Bank. As the Church increased in membership, ministries, and departments, the Burden Bearers Ministry now focused mainly on food distribution to the community members. Most of our food products and other items are received from the Houston Food Bank.

Before the Covid-19 outbreak, members of the community or whoever needed food, would come to our pantry, and select their food as needed. However, during the Covid-19 period until date, we transitioned to drive-through food distribution due to the Covid outbreak.

We hold food distribution every Friday of the month and one Saturday of the month. During our Friday food distributions, we serve as many as 150 households, and at every Saturday food distribution, we serve between 180 and 250 households.
