WAKE UP CALL TO CHRISTIAN PARENTS!

I want to begin this message with a question: In this generation, do I say parents are lazy? Or they are overtaken by so much of events that they do not think of their Children’s Spiritual needs?
Going to Church with you every Sunday alone does not make a child born again. Do not forget there are so may Stuffs that are contending with the word of God and distracting the hearts of these Children.
Being a teacher, I was in a class one day reading my bible, a young boy of about 11 years old (an African American) walk up to me and asked’ M’am is that the bible? I said yes, He asked again “what Church do you attend?” I told him The Redeemed Christian Church of God. I then asked him the church he attends and he told me. He further told me how he has received the Holy Ghost baptism and leading some young Children to receiving the same. I was pleasantly surprised as this is a positive departure from the trend in our schools.
Parents need to wake up and teach their Children the way of the Lord. Prov 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”. How then can Christian parents make the greatest impact on the lives of their children?
A) I believe they can do this by praying earnestly, regularly and passionately for them. Through intercession both mothers and fathers can have a real and lasting influence in the lives of their children.
Hannah was an intercessor. She prayed BEFORE Samuel was born and she prayed AFTER Samuel was born. In verse 10 of chapter 1 of Samuel we read: “She prayed unto the Lord,” and then in verse 12 we read: “And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the Lord.” Then after the birth of Samuel we have the prophetic prayer of Hannah in chapter 2 verses 1 through 10. Note again the words of verse 1: “And Hannah prayed.” Here was a mother who recognized that her greatest ministry was prayer.
What Hannah did every mother must do. We must begin to pray fervently and regularly for our children; not only for their Salvation but also for safety.
B) Another way parents can help the Spiritual needs of their Children is Studying the word of God with them, “Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” If you sow nothing you reap nothing, Brethren the word of God is a seed which can be sown into the lives of these Children, or can also be uprooted or not even sown at all.
A good example is King Lemuel’s Mother: Chapter 31 of The Book of Proverbs. Understand that parents have great power to influence the lives of their children both physically and spiritually; consider the influence that Timothy’s mother and grandmother had on him (2Timothy 1:5; 3:15). Parents it is our Godly duty to show the Godly path to these young ones:
C) The third way is to show good examples to them. They learn more from what they see than what they hear. Let them see God lines, righteousness, faith and holiness.
Blessed are the parents who love God, for their children shall not be ignorant of their Creator and His plans concerning them.
Blessed are the parents who love the word of God, for their children shall know of the way, the truth and the life.
Blessed are the parents who love the house of God, for their children shall enter there and sit with them in the presence of God.
Blessed are the parents who love to pray, for their children shall feel the power of prayer and many shall find salvation.
Blessed are the parents who love to give to the cause of Christ, for their children shall become supporters of the Kingdom of God.
Blessed are the parents s who love the family altar, for they shall have their reward in this world and in the world to come.
Blessed are the parents who love to speak kind words to their neighbor's children, for thereby they shall win other boys and girls besides their own to Jesus Christ.
Shalom!
